About Us

Net Positive Tennis is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to using tennis as a tool for personal growth. While learning the game is important, our greater purpose is helping young people become confident, respectful, and resilient individuals who carry those values beyond the court. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience the lifelong benefits of tennis, regardless of cost or access. Through free and low-cost clinics, simple at-home practice ideas, equipment education, and community connections, we remove barriers that often prevent families from participating in the sport. Our goal isn't simply to create better tennis players—we're working to develop stronger people and stronger communities.

Our Values

These five pillars guide how we teach, compete, lead, and serve our community.

01

Honesty

Choosing integrity and doing what is right, even when no one is watching.

02

Respect

Valuing teammates, opponents, coaches, families, and the game itself.

03

Resilience

Responding to mistakes and challenges with effort, patience, and determination.

04

Confidence

Building belief through preparation, courage, improvement, and consistent effort.

05

Responsibility

Taking ownership of our choices and actions both on and off the court.

Meet Our Team

Founder

Karl Hui

Karl Hui is an 8.5 UTR player who has competed for Frisco High School for five years and currently serves as the varsity team captain and Line 1 player. Through years of practices, tournaments, and team competition, tennis has taught him how to lead, adapt under pressure, and remain resilient through challenges. Karl founded Net Positive Tennis because he believes the sport can shape who young athletes become—not only how they perform. He hopes to make tennis more accessible while helping children develop honesty, confidence, respect, responsibility, and a genuine love for the game.

Co-Founder

Darshan Kumar

Darshan Kumar is a 9.2 UTR player with more than ten years of competitive tennis experience. He previously played Line 1 for Reedy High School and is now transitioning to online school as he continues pursuing tennis at a high level. His time in the sport has taught him the importance of discipline, sportsmanship, patience, and consistent effort. Through Net Positive Tennis, Darshan is excited to share his experience and create a welcoming environment where every child feels encouraged to learn, compete, and grow.

He hopes to make every clinic positive and engaging while helping children become stronger players and more confident people.
